REGINA, ESTEVAN – On April 27, SaskPower announced it was looking for proposals to build a 100 megawatt grid-scale solar farm in the Estevan area, in addition to the completion and implementation of two major wind projects. Pipeline Online asked some pretty detailed questions, and it took a few days to get a response. SaskPower spokesperson Joel Cherry responded by email.

US decides to limit leasing in Alaska petroleum reserve
JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — The U.S. Interior Department has issued a decision to limit roughly half the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska to oil and gas leasing, rolling back a Trump-era policy criticized by conservationists that would have vastly expanded lands available for potential development.
The plan would prevent oil and gas development in areas considered important for sensitive bird populations and the Teshekpuk and Western Arctic caribou herds, the decision dated Monday states.

World Bank forecasts elevated commodity prices to remain through end of 2024
WASHINGTON — The World Bank says commodity prices that reached historically elevated levels because of the war in Ukraine will remain high through the end of 2024.
The agency’s commodity markets outlook report released Tuesday says energy prices, food and fertilizer have sustained the largest commodity shock since the 1970s.
