Brian Crossman: Farewell to Gormley, and hello to Bray
I’d like to close by thanking Mr. John Gormley for his years of service to the people of Saskatchewan, and for giving us a place to meet and a radio to yell at on occasion. It was always interesting and at times, a whole lot of fun. We in the “patch” have always listened to you. The men and women of the industry were always happy you paid attention to us and genuinely cared about our contributions to the province. I am confident that Evan will do the same, and the oilpatch will be “listening” with great interest.
Brian Zinchuk: Peter Prebble says Sask’s emissions are “way, way out of line with the global community.” Whose fault is that?
if Prebble had been an advocate instead of an enemy of nuclear, if he fought for it instead of being the principle opponent, and convinced others within the NDP of the same, maybe Saskatchewan would have built reactors under the Calvert administration.

What the Globe and Mail left out in its story on grid-scale batteries in Alberta
The Globe and Mail wrote a piece about grid-scale batteries in Alberta, highlighting Enfinite, which has built a fleet of 20-megawatt grid-scale batteries across the province. However, there’s a lot that the story left out, like the fact those very expensive batteries provide only a few minutes of power each month.
On Thursday, Alberta wind power had a hangover and the sun didn’t come out to play
When the sun is highest in the sky, solar power generation is supposed to be at its peak. That’s the idea, anyway. Reality is sometimes different, as at noon on Thursday, Nov. 23, solar power generation in Alberta was producing just 10 per cent of its nameplate capacity.
Steven Guilbeault cheers IEA report which says “no new long-lead-time conventional oil and gas projects are needed”
“In that scenario, declines in demand are sufficiently steep that no new long-lead-time conventional oil and gas projects are needed. Some existing oil and gas production would even need to be shut in.”

Alberta now has 44 wind farms, and Wednesday night they collectively produced next to no power
These low output numbers are despite substantial growth in both wind and solar power nameplate capacity. In recent months Alberta’s wind capacity grew from 3,618 megawatts to 4,410, an increase of 802 megawatts. That’s an increase of 22 per cent capacity in just a few months. And yet all those additional nameplate megawatts didn’t amount to a hill of beans when the wind decided not to blow across all of southern Alberta, as typically happens in these scenarios which Pipeline Online has reported on no less than 20 times in the last two years.

Feds promise long-awaited Indigenous loan guarantee program, but offer few details
The “next steps” for a long-awaited Indigenous loan guarantee program will be announced in next year’s federal budget, the Liberal government promised in its fall economic statement on Tuesday.
But industry groups and Indigenous leaders are still waiting for details on whether the program, which the fiscal update said would help communities invest in the natural resource sector, will facilitate equity ownership in oil and gas projects.
Editorial: Ottawa, take your journalism subsidy and shove it!
As my own boss, I can tell you, Pipeline Online does not accept any federal subsidies, not will it apply for any.
Which of the other media will say the same?

Feds to appeal court ruling that struck down cabinet order labelling plastics toxic
The designation of toxicity is necessary for the government to regulate substances, however, so without it the federal regulations would have to be rolled back.
