In the past week geopolitical strategist Peter Zeihan released a series of three videos on YouTube explaining how the shale revolution has impacted, well, everything, in the U.S. By extension, this applies to Canada as well. While the Bakken shale revolution in Saskatchewan has largely petered out, as there’s not nearly as fracking going on these days, it is absolutely game-changing in the Montney play of BC and Alberta. There the continued shale revolution is leading to the emergence of liquified natural gas (LNG) exports, including the Coastal GasLink pipeline, LNG Canada, and several more LNG terminals starting to gain traction, finally.
