Keystone Royalty, Part 3: Keystone spawned over a half dozen companies
REGINA – Regina-based Keystone Royalty may now be reaching its own liquidity event, with an acquisition by publicly-traded Topaz Energy, but along the way, the company has spawned seven, yes, seven, exploration companies, one of which is still active.
It all was built on a relatively simple model. Keystone, the parent, had the royalty land, and they would launch exploration companies to drill on said land. Once enough was developed, it would be sold off, usually to a serial acquiring company, and they would start over.
Keystone Royalty, Part 2: Lothian: “There’s no willingness to step in front of the woke green train that the Liberals have created”
For E. Craig Lothian, president and CEO of Keystone Royalty Group, the actions of the federal government are indeed driving the current profitability of the industry they are trying so hard to choke off. And while they are driving up prices, they’re making it hard to invest in this country.
Keystone Royalty, Part 1: The deal with Topaz Energy
This is the first in a five-part series of in depth stories from a conversation with E. Craig Lothian, CEO of Regina-based Keystone Royalty Group. On March 31, Topaz Energy announced it would be acquiring Keystone as part of an all-stock deal. These stories go beyond the deal, into what has made Keystone tick, the spawning of seven exploration companies, and how current politics are affecting the industry.
Arnett & Burgess Pipeliners digs into its 65th Year in pipeline construction
CALGARY – Only a handful of companies in the Canadian oilpatch have made it 50 years in business. Fewer still have made it 65. But on Feb. 22 Arnett & Burgess Pipeliners (A&B) celebrated a major milestone of 65 years in pipeline construction.
That’s long enough that if the incorporation papers were a person, they could collect a pension cheque.
PTRC’s new CEO Ranjith (Ran) Narayanasamy says Saskatchewan should be a clean tech exporter to the world
REGINA – On Feb. 14th the Petroleum Technology Research Centre (PTRC) and its board of directors announced the appointment of Ranjith (“Ran”) Narayanasamy as the company’s new president and chief executive officer.
Narayanasamy comes to the PTRC from SaskPower after over 16 years. He has a somewhat different perspective on carbon capture and storage. You see, he spent some time in India speaking about and promoting SaskPower’s efforts in that regard. And India happens to have more than 180,000 megawatts of coal-fired power generation
