Several CAOEC courses are being offered at Southeast College in Estevan and Weyburn this spring.

Well Service Blow Out Prevention

Rig drillers, service rig managers and wellsite supervisors will learn the procedures for well killing operations on a service rig.

Upon successful completion of this course and examination with a minimum score of 70%, you will receive a Certificate of Completion that is valid for five years.

Dates: April 3 – 6, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm | This is a 4-day course

First Line Supervisor Blowout Prevention

The First Line Supervisors Blowout Prevention course will teach first line supervisors (drillers) who work on a drilling rig the theories of blowout prevention, how to use warning signs to recognize a kick and safely shut-in a well. Well control procedures and rig crew responsibilities during well killing operations are also covered.

Upon successful completion of this course and examination with a minimum score of 70%, you will receive a Certificate of Completion that is valid for three years.

Dates: April 18 – 21, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm | This is a 4-day course

CAOEC Service Rig Competency Assessors Course

This course teaches field superintendents and rig managers, in the well servicing division of the CAOEC, how to become an assessor and learn the guidelines for completing a competency assessment for a floorhand, derrickman or a driller.

Upon Completion: In order to maintain credentials, the assessor must complete at least one assessment every three years. Prerequisites: Must be currently employed with a service rig contractor and Must be at the Field Superintendent or Rig Manager level.

Please note there is no link between this assessor training and the CAOEC Driver Training initiative.

Dates: April 22, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

This course teaches drillers on a service rig and wellsite supervisors involved in well control operations how to use coil tubing equipment.
