Alberta has brought online another wind farm and even more wind turbines in recent days. And despite having increased the amount of nameplate capacity in two years by roughly two-thirds, total power production still flatlines on a frequent but irregular basis.
Around mid-day on Thursday, Nov. 30, wind power generation in Alberta flatlined again. It hit 39 megawatts at 1:38 p.m., according to X bot account @ReliableAB, which posts hourly updates based on data from the Alberta Electric System Operator.
At this moment 89.9% of Alberta's electricity is being produced by fossil fuels. Wind is at 0.9% of capacity and producing 0.4% of total generation, while solar is at 39.3% of capacity and producing 5.68% of total generation. At the same time we are importing 495 MW or 5% pic.twitter.com/6REgRNbB95

There are now 45 wind farms in Alberta, up from 44 a week before.
