Whitecap Resources Inc. on Monday, May 15, joined many other oil and gas firms in being impacted by the wildfires hitting Alberta and British Columbia.
The company said on its LinkedIn account late Monday afternoon:
Whitecap Resources Inc. advises that the Alberta wildfires have impacted its operations in northern Alberta and in northeast British Columbia.
The safety and health of our employees and consultants is our top priority and all of our affected personnel have been safely evacuated. There are no significant damages to Whitecap’s infrastructure at this time, however, production has been impacted by downstream third-party interruptions and proactive shut-in of production in close proximity to the wildfires.
To everyone who lives and works in the affected communities, you are in our thoughts and we hope that you can safely return in the near future.
Thank you to all of the responders who have worked so hard fighting the fires and ensuring that all affected have been safely evacuated.
Whitecap is pleased to advise that we will match employee donations made to relief efforts.
