There are a few surprises in the top 100 conventional oil wells in Saskatchewan for the month of October.

That’s according to data compiled by by BlincSoftware. Blinc compiled its numbers from data provided by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources. Much more detailed information can be found at BlincSoftware’s Canadian Petroleum Registry.

For one, in No. 1 position, is a heavy oil well in northwest Saskatchewan. Strathcona Resources’ 101/09-32-034-20W3/00 well hit 564 barrels per day with minimal gas at Druid. For much of the last year, the top position usually fell to southeast Saskatchewan.

Whitecap Resources came in second spot, with 101/14-13-006-06W2/00 registering 527 bpd at Browning.

In third spot, Canadian Natural Resources Limited’s 101/03-18-050-24W3/00 well at Tangleflags had 478 bpd production.

Fourth, fifth and sixth went to Surge Energy on former Astra properties near Lampman. Those wells, in order and with their production, were 101/02-03-005-06W2/00 (477 bpd), 101/03-32-004-06W2/00 (444 bpd), 102/03-03-005-06W2/00 (346 bpd).

Seventh place went to Whitecap at Steelman, with well 103/05-09-005-06W2/00 hitting 321 bpd.

At Alameda, Taprock Energy Inc. came in eighth place with 103/15-26-004-03W2/00 producing 318 bpd.

In ninth place was another Surge well at Lampman. Well 105/01-03-005-06W2/00 had 313 bpd.

Rounding out tenth place was another surprise, a company that doesn’t often score that high on the list. Pemoco’s 101/03-15-008-33W1/00 had 299 bpd.
