Bronwyn Eyre: Judges Should Interpret Law—Not Make Public Policy From the Bench

Coal Revival: Estevan Mayor Tony Sernick can sleep better now, after expectations city would become a ghost town
When the announcement that coal, Estevan’s primary business, was not going away in 2030, Estevan Mayor Tony Sernick had one of the best sleeps he’d had in a long time.
“I had the best sleep probably in January, when I got introduced to the idea, right? And then, yeah, the other night, I slept like a baby. There’s no doubt about that.”
Brian Zinchuk: What if we could do Energy East Mark 2, but without Quebec or New Brunswick?
The reality is these costly projects are being considered because Quebec refuses to play nice. As Premier Moe recently said on June 17, “I’m done with that conversation.”

Michael Zwaagstra: Time to scrap the federal EV mandate
I have known Michael Zwaagstra for 33 years. He is one of my closest friends and more importantly among the smartest men I know. He has been writing advanced policy pieces in the education sphere since 1997. He is a senior fellow with not one but two policy think tanks, the Frontier Centre for Public Policy and the Fraser Institute. His first book, What’s Wrong With Our Schools and How Can We Fix Them, is a blueprint for fixing our messed up school system. Indeed, when Bronwyn Eyre was Saskatchewan Minister of Education, she had worked on trying to address those very issues using Zwaagstra’s book for guidance.
