Alberta Premier Danielle Smith really, really wants to build another oil pipeline to the northern BC coast. British Columbia Premier David Eby apparently really, really does not want that to happen. Meanwhile Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe previously said he thinks the most important pipeline project is that very same pipeline to the Pacific, not that any Saskatchewan oil would find its way into it, but such it would free up room in other pipelines for more Saskatchewan oil.

And I’ve had more conversations than I can count as to “why things are slow.” It’s not just oil prices, which aren’t great. Drilling rig report sees busier northwest Saskatchewan
Northwest Saskatchewan is seeing notable drilling activity, according to Canadian Association of Energy Contractors data published by RiggerTalk.com.
The rig count for the province came in at 36, with 35 drilling for oil and one for helium.
