Decouple Media: The AP1000 Masterclass: Return of the Big Boring Reactor
When Premier Scott Moe talks about “1000 megawatt reactors”, he’s pretty much referring to the AP1000. As Saskatoon-based Cameco bought 49 per cent of Westinghouse in 2023, and Moe has joined the presidents of Cameco and Westinghouse Canada on stage at conferences in Saskatoon this year, this is the most likely design Saskatchewan would go with, should it go into “large nuclear,” after it forays into “Small modular reactors.”

Brian Crossman: Negativity vs. Positivity
I bumped into a friend of mine recently. He has seen his fair share of tragedy in the past few years and would have every right to be bitter. But he maintains that everything will work out for the best. Look for the simple joys in life, spend time with your kids, and your grandkids if you are so blessed. My pal said, “No matter what, there is someone worse off than you.” I’m inclined to agree with him on this.
