Enbridge’s Weyburn wind project open house, Part 5: Health, setbacks, provincial dollars
Within days of the June announcement Enbridge had bought into the project, the province of Saskatchewan announced $100 million in loan guarantees for Indigenous groups to take part in the ownership stake. Pipeline Online spoke to Premier Scott Moe about this point the day after the open house, and that will be included in the year end interview videos to be published in the coming days.

“But fundamentally, you asked the question, right? Why would we do it? Because we think it’s a good project for the area, right? You may not agree, or you do not agree, but with that statement, but there are a lot of people who have reached out to us and said that, ‘Hey, we want this project. It’s important for my local business. It’s important for the long term tax impact that that’s going to have on our RM.”

Enbridge pipeline spills 70,000 gallons of oil in Wisconsin in November
Enbridge said the spill on the company’s Line 6 was caused by a faulty connection on a pump transfer pipe at the Enbridge Cambridge Station. It was an estimated 1,650 barrels, which is equivalent to about 70,000 gallons.
