WEYBURN, SK – Who has made a difference, or perhaps dedicated their lives, to the oil and gas industry in Saskatchewan. You’ve got some time to ponder that, and perhaps nominate them for 2024 Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show awards.
The Weyburn Oil Show Board has announced that nominations are now being accepted for the Southeast Oilperson of the Year, and Southeast Sask Legends Award.
The awards are among the highlights of the oil show, and are often handed out by the premier or minister of energy and resources.
The Southeast Oilperson of the Year will be presented to an individual who has been recognized as making a significant contribution to the growth and success of the industry in Southeast Saskatchewan. To qualify the candidate should be based in Southeast Saskatchewan.
The Southeast Saskatchewan Legends Award is to recognize individuals who have contributed significantly to the industry, associations, and communities in Southeast Saskatchewan over the duration of their career. Criteria for this award includes at least 25 years of work in the oil and gas industry with the majority of that time being spent in Southeast Saskatchewan.
There’s some time to think about who to nominate, as nominations are due on Oct. 31, 2023, with the forms being found on the Saskatchewan Oil & Gas Show website, www.oilshow.ca/awards. The recipients will be presented at the next Saskatchewan Oil & Gas Show on June 5, 2024.
