Gridiron acquires Ironhorse Drilling Services and Torque Rathole Drilling, adds pressure cementing

CALGARY— Gridiron Drilling Services Partnership, an Alberta-based provider of rathole drilling and support services which also works in Saskatchewan, announced on Nov. 30 the acquisition of Ironhorse Drilling Services and Torque Rathole Drilling Inc., two established operators serving Western Canada’s upstream oil and gas industry.

Under the terms of the transaction, Ironhorse Drilling Services will be fully integrated into Gridiron, while Torque Rathole Drilling Inc. will continue operating as a wholly owned subsidiary during a phased transition period, according to a Gridiron release.

“The combined group expands Gridiron’s operational footprint across Alberta and consolidates decades of specialized knowledge and field experience within one organization,” the release said.

Expanded Services Now Include Pressure Cementing

As part of the integration, Gridiron is launching pressure cementing services across all operating areas. This new service line provides producers with a more complete drilling support solution delivered through a single vendor.

Operational Continuity

  • Field operations across all entities continue without interruption.
  • All existing phone numbers, emails, and contact information remain active during the transition to ensure seamless communication with customers and vendors.
  • Staff will be onboarded gradually, with integration plans tailored for each organization.
