Jason Schneider, the Reeve of Vulcan County, Alberta, was invited to speak to ratepayers of the RM of Estevan about the realities of wind and solar development. Vulcan County is home of the largest solar facility in Canada, as well as numerous wind farms. While at first renewable energy developers were quite open, now they are not, and frequently ask for non-disclosure agreements.
Vulcan County got its first major “green” project 10 years ago. Now it is also home to the largest solar project in the country, as well as numerous wind facilities.
This speech took place in Estevan, Saskatchewan, on April 26, 2023.
