Estevan-based ALX Artificial Lift Werx Ltd is teaming up with the Estevan Meter Group of Companies on their respective artificial lift offerings.

ESTEVAN – Two Estevan firms are forming a partnership to expand their respective artificial lift product offerings. ALX Artificial Lift Werx Ltd and Estevan Meter and its subsidiaries Virden Meter, Primec Controls LLC and Apollo Electric & Controls are teaming up.

ALX is bringing the pumpjacks, Estevan Meter, Virden Meter, Apollo and Primec are bringing the controls and supporting hardware.

Doug Martens, president of Estevan Meter Services LTD., Apollo Electric and Controls, Virden Meter Services LP. and managing director of Primec Controls LLC, along with David Heier, president of ALX Artificial Lift Werx Ltd. have agreed to enter into a mutual partnership agreement.

The Estevan Meter Group of Companies will become an ALX premium supplier and will supply ALX with Sensia artificial lift products, motor controllers, motors and other related artificial life equipment. Estevan Meter will supply ALX products throughout the ALX North American trading area.

The companies said in a May 31 news release, “Estevan Meter was selected as a premium supplier due to their vast experience in artificial lift, their relationship with Sensia Artificial Lift in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, North Dakota and Montana and the vast array of products ALX will bundle with the ALX Pumping Units.”

The Estevan Meter Group has made a substantial investment into ALX through its current private placement.

Primec Controls LLC will work with ALX to market ALX pumping units in the North Dakota, Montana regions.

ALX pumping units have been manufactured in Canada since 2003. ALX has sold more than 700 ALX pumping units which have been operating in all the North American land based producing regions. World events caused ALX to cease operations for several years. ALX will have acquired 25,000 square feet of manufacturing facilities this year. ALX will be the only Canadian manufacturer and will supply the North American market, it said. ALX plants and head office are located in Estevan.

Doug Martens, his partners and David Heier said they are very excited to move this relationship forward during this resurgence of the oilpatch.
