Brian Crossman to speak about DEEP geothermal project at Calgary SPE workshop

Independent Well Servicing partner and Pipeline Online columnist Brian Crossman will be speaking at a Society of Petroleum Engineers workshop in Calgary which takes place Sept. 17-18. The workshop is entitled “Heating Up Geothermal Innovation and Development in Canada.”

In addition to its bread and butter of oil and gas in southeast Saskatchewan, Independent Well Servicing has been at the forefront of pretty much every new developing avenue that uses service rigs, showing there’s much more to the oilpatch than just oil. In recent years IWS has done potash work, natural gas storage caverns, helium, lithium and, of course, the Deep Earth Energy Production geothermal project near Torquay, Saskatchewan. That will be the subject of Crossman’s presentation for the SPE.

The DEEP project intends on producing baseload power from geothermal wells drilled into the deepest sedimentary formations of the Williston Basin within southeast Saskatchewan.
