Saskatchewan response to the Clean Electricity Regulations: Unaffordable, unconstitutional and unobtainable

The federal plan is expected to cost approximately $40 billion in our province alone from now until 2035. The CER represents another concerning example of federal jurisdictional overreach. Saskatchewan’s electrical grid took 90 years to build. If the draft CER becomes law in 2025, as proposed, we would have to (re)construct over 100 per cent of our publicly­ owned electrical system in just ten years.
