During the October, 2024, provincial election campaign Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe said he’d like to eventually see Saskatchewan reach one million barrels of oil production per day. That dramatically exceeds his own government’s stated goal of 600,000 barrels per day by 2030. Doing so would more than double the province’s current ~450,000 bpd average production.
